Sundiata - The Lion of Mali

This cinematic trailer brings to life the legendary story of Sundiata Keita, also known as Sogolon Djata, Manding Diara, and the Lion of Mali, the first ruler and founder of the great Mali Empire. Born around 1217, Sundiata entered the world unable to walk, mocked as weak and unlikely to lead. Yet, at the age of seven, he defied all expectations, stood on his own, and began a journey that would transform him into one of the greatest warriors and leaders in African history.

This project was crafted as a concept for a larger screenplay, combining historical inspiration with modern digital artistry. The cinematic sequence was produced using Unreal Engine, Blender, Substance Painter, and Adobe After Effects, blending advanced 3D character creation, worldbuilding, and storytelling into a powerful visual tribute to Africa’s iconic hero.
